Add LIVING ENZYMES to your diet to give your body & digestive system a much needed boost.

The process is called malting.
When grain germinates the enzyme amylase becomes active & starts to convert the energy reserves of the grain (starch) into malt glucose

The same amylase enzymes are also found in human saliva, its function in the human body is to begin the process of food digestion. When you are chewing your food the amylase enzymes in your saliva mixes with the food and the digestion process begins breaking down the starch from your food into malt / glucose.

STARCH = Carbohydrates
Food's rich in Starch = pasta, rice, bread, grains, cereals, noodles, beans, seeds, potato's, porridge, bananas, berries, sweet potato's.

Eating GERMINATED GRAINs ... as soon as the grain starts germinating you can nibble on them as a tasty super healthy RAW food enzyme snack .. you will feel the energy increase with in 15 minutes of eating malted grains.

Add malted grains to boost breakfast cereals such as oats & muesli .
(If you dont like wheat.. you can also germinate barley, rye, oats)

Adding 2 table spoons of germinating grains to your PROTEIN shakes will mix FRESH enzymes in your drink & help your body absorb ALOT MORE nutrients.

Germinated Wheat is available FRESH EVERY DAY @ the GYM restaurant.

CHIA seeds for improved ENDURANCE & HYDRATION

Chia seeds are one of the most nutritious super foods on the planet.
They are an excellent source of dietary fiber, antioxidants, protein, electrolytes, vitamins & minerals + Chia seeds are the richest known plant source of omega-3. Chia seeds have twice the protein of any other seed or grain + five times the calcium of milk & more iron than spinach.

CHIA ... is the Mayan word for strength.

In pre-Columbian times Chia seed was used as a source of energy for the Aztec warriors. ONE tablespoon of Chia seed was believed to sustain an Aztec warrior for 24 hours.

One of the qualities of the Chia seed is its hydrophilic properties.
It has the ability to absorb more than 10 times its weigh in water.

Chia seeds will slow feed your body with h2o, electrolytes, magnesium, copper, iron, niacin, zinc & protein, Chia seeds give you an incredibly 'sustaining' surge of ENRGY & much improved hydration for long runs or heavy training sessions.

How to use Chia seeds...

Chia Drinking Water - Add 1 - 2 table spoons of Chia seeds to 1 or 2 litre bottle of water. Wait 10 minutes BEFORE you drink the Chia water so the seeds have had time to absorb some of the water.

Chia in your Food - One table spoon of chia seed can be sprinkled on most foods such as porridge, breakfast cereals, mixed veggies, mashed potato's, salads, milk shakes, fruit drinks, green smoothies & protein drinks.

Chia Gel - Chia gel is perfect for endurance runners & tri-athletes to help maintain hydration during marathon events. Add 5 table spoons of chia seed to one cup of water, mix it in well & pour the paste into a small plastic bag. 15 minutes your chia paste will solidify & become firm jelly. During your bike leg & run squeeze some Chia gel into your mouth for continued hydration. ( You only need to try Chia Gel ONCE to appreciate its hydration benefits & VERY noticeable faster recovery ....

(If you are Training @ Phromthep Muaythai Camp ... make a glass of Chia gel and keep it in the fridge, eat a BIG spoonful before your morning run)

Chia in your Protein drinks - add 1 or 3 table spoons of Chia seed to your protein shake's & GREEN smoothie's.

WARNING: If you eat Chia seed dry (without water) It will take the fluid from your body and cause you hydration issues. If you are using the seeds dry, BE CAREFUL of the amount you sprinkle on food. Chia seeds absorb 10 times their volume in water even if its the water is already inside your body. 3+ spoons of dry chia seed can severely dehydrate you in less than an hour.

Chia seeds is added to ALL green smoothies @ the GYM + Chia seeds can be purchased in 1lb bags @ the Gym. (see Danny Avison @ the Gym more details)

Chia seed DETOX
The water absorbed by the Chia seed is somewhat difficult to remove, it takes the digestive process alot of work to break down the soluble fiber and absorb the water from the seed. This means that as the Chia seeds pass through the digestive system & into the colon where they are slowly irrigating your body on the way through. Keeping food moist during the digestion process is VERY important for good health & removal of waste from the body.
