The PHROMTHEP Muay Thai Camp web site is no longer taking bookings ... due to greed & corruption by the Thai Owners..

11pm on Tuesday 22nd November…
WHAT A DAY @ PHROMTHEP Muay Thai Camp !

Im hiding out in Thailand waiting for a flight back to Australia. Keeping the story short… My greedy Thai business partners @ Phromthep Muay Thai Camp (Goong & her nasty family) have set me up to be arrested so they can take over control of the gym & gym web site. Thailand Muaythai.com @ Rawai beach Phuket Thailand. Things dident go to plan for them and I refused to sign over the web site, instead I deleted it, changed the ftp access & password and now im hiding out in a safe place while I wait for a flight back to Australia.

$$ .. Getting PAYED to Fight in THAILAND .. $$
WIN or lose the local fight promoters in Thailand pay each GYM 4000 - 10.000 THB Thai baht for a fight. How much the fighter gets is based on the quality of the fight & how hard they have trained for the fight. Put in 100% and you will get paid 100% of the fight money BUT if you arrive late to training sessions or put in an average effort during training then you will receive as little as 50% of the fight money.

FIGHTING @ Phuket Thailand ...
Thai Boxing fights are held nearly every night @ Phuket Thailand.
ALL fights are 100% FULL THAI RULES... Elbows & Knees to the body & head.
5 x 3 minute rounds with a one & half minute break between rounds.

Fighters Insurance
Thai boxing stadium's in Thailand do NOT provide Injury insurance.

At Phromthep Muay Thai Camp we have developed our own Fighters Medical Fund to help cover OUR fighter's from unexpected & potential HUGE hospital or dental bills caused during a fight representing Phromthep Muay Thai Camp.

The fighters prize money from their FIRST fight Only is TAXED 1000 Thai baht (approx $30). The money collected from fight's go towards an EMERGENCY Medical Fund that is to HELP OUR fighters with potential HUGE hospital & dental expenses related to injuries causes from the fight.

The Fighters Insurance is NOT for the small injuries such as x-rays, broken ribs, doctor's bills, etc. The Fighters Insurance is an EMERGENCY fund that is ONLY available when the fighter is S.O.L (Shit Out of luck). To HELP cover surgery / medical expenses of up to 80.000 THB.
(Motor Bike accidents are NOT covered by the Fighters Medical Fund)

How to become a SPONSORED FIGHTER
Every one pays their own way for the first 5 Fights.

TAKE NOTE
1) THREE MONTHs FIGHT TRAINING = 30,000 THB.
2) You will need to apply for a 1 year Thailand education Visa BEFORE your come to Thailand. We can supply you with an invite letter from the GYM to support your 1 year Thailand visa but NOT ALL Thai Embassies will give a 1 year visa so easily.

(perfect for a quick stop over).

What we EXPECT from our SPONSORED FIGHTERs

We expect our SPONSORED FIGHTER to be role models for our less experienced students. As a sponsored fighter YOU set the standard in the gym. You are their to inspire our fitness students & armature fighters and demonstrate what can be achieved with focus & hard work.

(1) EVERY FIGHTER must run @ 6am (with out exception)
(2) If you miss the morning then you don't get to do pad work with the trainers.
(3) Our SPONSORED fighters are expected to fight EVERY 2 - 3 weeks.
(3) AFTER your fight you get 2 - 3 days rest before returning to training.
If you have sore shins from your recent fight then we put you on light training, cardio, weights, etc intill you are fit enough to resume full training again. (Sore shins is NOT an excuse for you to have an extended break from training)

Take NOTE .. If you plan to be out late in the bars then your training is going to suffer & your time at the GYM will be VERY short.

SHIN SPLINTS ... We do not accept shin splints as an excuse not to run. If you suffer from shin splints then you should be looking for another gym to be training at. (Morning run is Compulsory for ALL of our sponsored fighters)

RAIN DAYS ... Rain is NOT an excuse to sleep in, when its to wet to run then sponsored fighters are expected to skip 30 - 40 minutes in the GYM.

If you are training for a FIGHT ...
You should be on HIGH ALERT for infections.

Common infections caused during Muay Thai training = blisters on the feet, elbows, knees, knuckles, shins, mosquito bites, ingrown toe nails, tooth cavity.

If you fight while your body is fighting an infection, your energy will drain quickly & before the end of the 2nd round you will be drained of energy & S.O.L (Shit Out Of Luck).

idione antiseptic infections tropics phuket thailand health issues infection in the tropics training muay thai boxing thailand infection tropics training energy loss slower recoveryinfection tropics training energy loss slower recovery

The infections in the photo's above went un noticed intill they started to become inflamed & NASTY. 1 - 2 weeks of training can easily be lost while you wait for a simple infection to clear up.

Pay Attention !

In the high humidity of the Tropics a small scratch on the skin can get infected & turn NASTY very quickly. (ANY cut of the skin should be treated with iodine antiseptic, even blisters from running can get nasty quickly if not treated with iodine.

Once an infection sets in, you will need to take oral antibiotics to get rid of it, that will cost you 1 - 2 weeks of low energy & NO training while you wait for the infection to clear.

If you find your self getting fatigued quickly & slow to recover from training then the chances are you will have one or multiple infections some where on your body. Your body devotes a HUGE amount of its energy reserves towards fighting an infections. Your energy levels will drain VERY quickly during training & recovery from exercise will be painfully slow. CHECK your body for any cuts on the skin or early signs of infection.

A simple tooth ache, tooth cavity can have a HUGE drain on your energy levels. Deal with oral issues BEFORE your fight and not leave it intill after the fight.

Apply iodine Antiseptic to ALL cuts & blisters.
Iodine Antiseptic is available in the office @ PHROMTHEP muaythai camp + at any Pharmacy in Thailand for approx 30 - 40 Thai baht / $1.

If you are training with a Polar heart monitor then you would have noticed an increase in your heart rate by approx 20 bpm above your normal exercising heart rate. Your increased heart rate will be noticeable 1 - 3 days before an infection becomes noticeable to the eye. If your listening to your body then you will detect infections and deal with them before they become a problem.

GET the MOST out of your TRAINING .. by training with a heart rate monitor.

Are YOU WORKING HARD or HARDLY working ?.... Training with a heart rate monitor allows you to see how hard your body really is working.

It takes the guess work out of how hard you are training. A POLAR heart rate monitor allows you to see the highs & lows in your training + you can see whats happening when your body is fatigued & run down + it shows you how fast your heart rate recovers between rounds, It takes the guess work out of it.

NEVER used ONE !
Check Out this video on how to use a heart rate monitor for Muaythai Training
