Ocean Swimming in the tropics is a beautiful experience. Warm water ALL year round, No sharks or Crocodiles to worry about & 30+ c even on raining days.
At Naiharn beach (2 km from Phromthep Muaythai Camp) we have a unique swimming location that allows us to swim against the incoming & out going tide.
The water in the lagoon is 1 - 2 meters deep & the speed of the water flow is dependent on the high / low of the tide. Swimming in the rapids at Naiharn beach allows you to swim on the spot for 1 - 2 hours with out stopping.... Swimming @ Naiharn beach is PERFECT for triathlon & iron man training

Phi Phi Island
Phi Phi Island is a small island about 45 minutes boat ride south from Phuket.
Phi Phi has the best scuba diving & snorkeling + after sun set the island comes alive with bars & restaurants.
The famous movie "The Beach" staring Leonardo De Caprio was filmed @ Phi Phi Island.
To get to Phi Phi its a 2 hour ferry ride from Chalong jetty @ Phuket.
Phi Phi makes for a great over night trip PARTY with friends or the perfect location for a romantic weekend away.

How to get Their
The BIG Buddha is located @ Chalong, 5 km from Phromthep Muaythai Camp.
From the gym you can easily ride to the BIG Buddha on a scooter / mo ped or its approx 300 Thai Baht in a Taxi.
Phuket Triathlon / Phuket Marathon
Phuket plays host to 2 major marathons, 3 tri-athlons & an IRON man event.
Races are suitable for beginners & Pro athletes.

How to bring your Bike to Thailand
If you want to bring your own bike with you to Thailand for triathlon training then you should go to your local bike shop and buya bike transport bag. A bike transport bag will stop your bike getting damaged during transportation.
If you are doing it on the cheap... you can use thick cardboard & lots of duck tape to protect the gears & spokes. Take off the peddles & turn the handle bar so its flat with the frame & takes up as little space as possible. Don't forget to deflate the air from your tyres or the air pressure at altitude will blow them.
The airline will ask you to check the bike in @ the over size luggage desk.
As long as your total weight is under 29kg you wont be charged for access weight.
Airline charges for excess weight is approx $20 USD per KG.
10kg over would cost you approx $200 USD.
BIKE HIRE @ PHROMTHEP
At PHROMTHEP muaythai camp we have mountain bikes & triathlon bikes available for our students. Our bikes are well maintained and more than suitable for 100+km training rides. We offer a discounted monthly rate for our fitness & triathlon students that are training 1+ months in Thailand.
Bikes are available for hire @ following rates
Daily Rate = 500 THB (Daily rate is NOT available on race week)
Weekly Rate = 2500 THB
Monthly Rate = 8000 THB (discounted monthly rate)
Need a bike for RACE day... (Phuket Triathlon & Phuket Ironman)
Minimum hire during race week = 2500 THB
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT ... We have an Australian Commonwealth bank account to make deposit payment easy. Banking details will be available on request.
PRE booking a bike for race week ... If you want to reserve a bike for race week, deposit & payment is required at the time of making your reservation. Bikes are in HUGE demand during November & December so you are advised pre book your bike no less than ONE month in advance.

EVERY full moon 10.000+ Tourists travel to a small beach on the far side of Koh Phangan Island & PARTY on the beach till dawn.

How to Get Their
It's a 3 hour mini bus ride from Phuket to the port of Surat Thani, then its a 2 hour ferry ride out to the island of Koh Phangan.
Once you arrive @ Koh Phangan, it's then a 20 minute taxi ride out to the far side of the Koh Phangan island where the full moon party is held.
Accommodation @ Koh Phangan
Most ouf our students perfer NOT stay on the Island, They perfer to travel all day from Phuket to arrive on the island about 5pm & PARTY till sun rise & catch the 7am ferry back to mainland Thailand..
Their are many bungalows & resorts @ Koh Phangan to stay at. Advanced booking are NOT required.

Travel Warning The Full Moon beach Party
Drunk/ intoxicated tourist make easy targets for criminals!
10% of the gym students that go to the Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan have their wallets or mobile phones stolen.
To lose your ATM card/ credit card/ passport/ mobile phone and your cash is a major inconvenience that could leave you stranded at Koh Phangan with no money for your boat fare/ bus fare back to Phuket.
If you plan to PARTY @ the Full Moon Party then be smart & think adead !
Prior to departing for the party, check your wallet to see what you can not afford to lose, take with you what you need and leave the rest in a safe place back at the gym or in your hotel room at Koh Phangan.
It would be smart thinking to hide 1000 Baht ($30) cash in a different pocket incase of emergency.
Safe Sleeping Zones are available on the beach during the Full Moon Party but many of our students say it is when they were asleep in the" safe sleeping zones" that they had their pockets picked.
Beware of under cover Thai police trying to sell you drugs :)
